Apple has recently launched its much-awaited AirPods Pro with enhanced features and is believed to be much better in performance than Airpods. The latest features like active noise cancellation, better sound quality and water, and sweat resistance ability make it a popular choice among users. Differences In Design & Fit:

When you buy Apple Airpods Pro, you get three soft and flexible silicone tips in three different sizes, which include small, medium, large. However, the AirPods comes in just one size that fits everyone. Some users have complained about the Airpods falling out of their ears or hurting them.

Not many people know this, but Airpods Pro has a feature called the Ear Tip Fit Test, which helps you determine the size of ear tips that provides acoustic performance and sturdy ear fit. According to Apple, the advanced algorithms help in detecting the perfect size of the ear tip and inform the user if it has the right fit or needs to be adjusted.

Size, Weight & Appearance:

If we compare the weight, Airpods Pro is slightly heavier with 5.4 grams as compared to Airpods, which is 4.0 grams. Ergonomically designed, Airpods Pro has been designed to provide users with the utmost comfort and convenience. They are also very compact and offer a perfect fit to wear all day long.

Noise Cancellation Feature & Transparency Modes of Airpods Pro:

Noise cancellation is one such feature that truly makes it stand out as it removes background noise with perfection and allows users to focus on what they are listening to. The best thing is that there are two microphones attached to support this feature, which cancel out the noise before it reaches your ears.

In case a user wants to hear anything around them, they can press and hold the force sensor located on the stem of the AirPods Pro to switch between active noise cancellation and transparency mode. This transparency mode allows you to hear outside sound when needed, like placing an order for a coffee or while interacting with someone around you. However, the regular AirPods do not have features like active noise cancellation, transparency mode or a force sensor.

This force sensor comes with multiple functions like it allows you to jump between active noise cancellation mode and transparency mode. Other than that, this force sensor can also be used to play, pause or answer the call. Press it twice to forward and thrice to skip back.

Sound Quality of AirPods Pro Vs AirPods:

Apple AirPods Pro has a better sound quality and gives a strong performance than AirPods. Thanks to its adaptive EQ, Apple AirPods Pro delivers impressive sound quality, which set the lows and mid frequencies of the music as per the shape of the user’s ears.

Apple on the AirPods Pro:

A custom-built high-excursion, low-distortion driver delivers powerful bass. A super-efficient high dynamic range amplifier produces pure, incredibly clear sound while also extending battery life. And Adaptive EQ automatically tunes music to suit the shape of your ear for a rich, consistent listening experience.

To improve call quality in windy situations, Apple has also incorporated a new feature, which is an expanded mesh microphone port.

Battery Life Is Similar In Both:

There is not much difference between the battery lives of both. According to Apple, the battery life of AirPods Pro is 4.5 hours on a single charge with noise cancellation and other features enabled. On the other hand, the regular AirPods last up to 5 hours per charge.

Both come with a charging case that offers additional charging with 24 hours of total listening time. AirPods Pro has a larger charging case.

The Water-resistant Feature Is a New add On in AirPods Pro:

It is a significant difference between the two as AirPods Pro comes with an IPX4 rating while AirPods have no rating for water or sweat resistance. Hence the former one is more suitable for your sports activities and gym training.

What’s In The Box?

AirPods Pro comes with a USB-C cable in the box while the regular AirPods have USB-A cable. AirPods Pro also gives you ear tips in three sizes, wireless charging case, and documentation.

Bluetooth Connectivity & Hey Siri Similar In Both:

Both the devices support Bluetooth 5.0 and have an Apple-designed H1 chip which allows hands-free “Hey Siri” support to make calls, control music, to read messages aloud just with your voice commands.

Price Difference:

In the United States, the second-generation AirPods are available at the price of $159 with a wireless charging case and $199 with wired charging case. On the other hand, AirPods Pro comes with a wireless charging case and is priced at $250.

Verdict:

If you are searching for the wireless earphones with power-packed performance, the regular AirPods will be the perfect pick for you. But if you are looking for earphones with exceptional features and improved sound quality, you must go for AirPods Pro.
