IP means Ingress Protection or International Protection standard, but while it comes with X (IPX rating), then you should understand that it describes of product protection level from dirt, dust, and moisture etc. Because ingress protection rating uses on two for partial protection and water protection. And you can see a lot of IPX7 and 8 rated product in the market but very few brands bring IPX9 rated headphone and others product at the moment.
