Buyer’s Guide to Wired Headphones
Wired headphones are always on the top of the list for professional users. Whether you are a professional gamer, music editor, live streamer, or audio mixer, only a wired headphone can meet your expectations. Also, those who have a gaming room with a gaming chair & desk prefer to have wired headphones other than a wireless one.
Wired headphones are well known for superior quality audio. For example, most open-back headphones that deliver the most realistic audio come with a wired connection. If you want to experience the best audio ever then you must go for wired headphones. But not just any wired headphones, you need to search for the best one. If you are willing to buy a wired headphone then you need to consider some factors as shown below.
Input Audio Jack
Most of the wired headphones come with a 3.5mm audio jack. This is the most acceptable & widely-used connection type. You can find a 3.5mm connector in every PC, TV & Gaming console. Some wired headphones may have a Type C connection. Before buying one make sure the connector jack will match your preferred device. Otherwise, you will need to buy an extra converter.
Wire Length
Basically most wired headphones come with 3.9 feet or 1.2-meter long cable. This long cable is enough for most users. Some wired headphones may have a longer or shorter cable. If the cable is longer than that is not an issue. But if it comes with a shorter cable & you need a longer one to use that then make sure to have an extra extension cable. SO before buying any wired headphones check the wire length.
Wire Type
You need to check what type of wire is provided with the headphone. Some headphone cables get tangled really easily which is a real pain. To avoid that some headphone comes with a flat-surfaced cable that gets less tangled. Also, make sure that the cable has a cotton or durable plastic coating on it so that it will not tear by accidental pulls.
Budget
If you are looking for decent wired headphones then you will not need to empty your pocket. Most wired headphones come with a moderate budget. But if you are going to buy an open-back wired headphone then you need to make a big budget.
Other Factors
You must consider the design & build of your wired headphone just like you do before buying any type of headphones. Also, look for the audio type, whether it has balanced audio or heavy bass, the driver type, etc. factors should be considered.
